Day One

campingdrivingraftingwalking

Your river team will come and collect you from your hotel at 8am. You'll have a waterproof drbag for all your personal equipment and clothing and a pelicase to keep your camera dry. At the river, we'll pass out some high float PFD lifejackets, a helmet and paddle and you'll be given full safety and paddle instructions from your trip leader. First time rafters are equally at home in their new environment as others who have rafted before. Our first day on the Zambezi River involves the best lunch spot in the world beneath Victoria Falls. Our rapids will include, Morning Glory, The Devils Toilet Bowl and the Midnight Diner to name a few before we reach our camp in the stunning Batoka Gorge.

Included: Lunch and Dinner but not alcohol

Day Two

campingrafting

With more whitewater in prospect, after breakfast, we'll strap the equipment into the rafts (both paddle rafts and an oar boat for equipment) and tackle some of the best rapids on the Zambezi River. The Overland Truck Eater is our first rapid of the morning (it isn't as scary as it sounds) then The Mother, Double Trouble and Oblivion. Tonight see us setting up "house" on Bobo beach in gorgeous surroundings for sundowners and a sumptuous meal. Welcome to your "Million Star Hotel".

Included: All meals but not alcohol

Day Three

campingrafting

After breakast we'll run "Morning Shave and Morning Shower" for our wake up call. Todays rapids are further apart, however they tend to be larger than those on our first two days. "Open Season and Narrows" are highlights before our lunch and then we raft "Chamamba and Upper Moemba". Immediately after this rapid, we camp between Upper and Lower Moemba and sample a Gin and Tonic overlooking the Lower Moemba Falls, a truly amazing sight. Settle in for dinner on this gorgeous beach.

Included: All Meals but not alcohol

Day Four

campingrafting

Today can be challenging but hugely rewarding at the same time. We cover more than 30 kilometres today, past Lower Moemba and Chabango Falls (the proposed site in years gone by of a joint agreement between the Zimbabwe and Zambian governments) to the biggest rapid of the trip, Ghostrider. Here the lowering waves dwarf our raft as we paddle like the professional team we have become. After Deep Throat, the river mellows a little and we see more and more wildlife as we approach our camp at Asleep At The Wheel. With layover day on the itinerary tonight, we'll celebrate our successful run through Ghostrider with our Zambezi Party!

Included: All meals but no alcohol

Day Five

campingwalkingkayak

LAYOVER DAY! Today is yours to do what you like. Read a book, listen to your iPod, fish for tiger fish, swim or learn to kayak. Today your biggest decision should be whether to have an extra helping of dessert!

Included: All meals but no alcohol

Day Six

campingraftingelephant

After a very lazy day yesterday, we make a relaxed start to our day on the river. We normally start seeing large crocodiles by this stage of the trip, baboons and klipspringers are often sighted plus sightings of the African Fish Eagle and crys of the hornbill. Today we treat ourselves to a floating lunch, where we join all rafts together on a flat section of river and enjoy the stunning salads prepared for you by our guides. We enjoy a cold beer and snack on the float through flat water to camp.

Included: All meals but no alcohol

Day Seven

drivingraftingelephanthelicopter

As we leave camp, reality strikes that this is our last day on the river, where life is relaxed and broken down into the simple pleasures. We paddle through pods of hippopotamus as we make our way to Matetsi, the pick up point by helicopter for our trip back over Victoria Falls to Livingstone.

Included: Breakfast
