Tandem Kayak The Zambezi River
This is surely the most exhillerating way to experience the Zambezi River. You will be in the front seat of a double whitewater kayak, paddling through all the biggest and best rapids on the Zambezi River. Your experienced guide will tell you when to paddle and when to take in the amazing view and plentiful wildlife you may see on your trip. We'll accompany other kayakers on the way down the river and sample a wonderful lunch during your trip down the Zambezi River. Paddle into Stairway to Heaven, Gullivers Travel, The Midnight Diner, The Mother and world famous Oblivion. This trip is legendary and 100% pure fun!
Your Day
We will collect you from your hotel and drive to the top of the Batoka Gorge where you take the stunning walk to the river. Here you will be given your equipment for the trip, a spraydeck, a high float life jacket, helmet and paddle. Your guide will spend time with you in the flat water at rapid 1 explaining exit techniques from your boat, and how best to paddle your boat down the Zambezi River. Your first taste of kayaking will be a surf session at rapid 2 beneath the Victoria Falls Bungy bridge. Then we are into our first big rapids, Morning Glory, Stairway to Heaven, Gullivers Travels and The Mighnight Diner all before lunch! The afternoon sees more spectacular whitewater including a finale to remember in Oblivion. After a ride out on the Gondola, we'll give you a well deserved beer or cold drink and have you back in town by 5pm.
