Kayaking
Inflatable Kayak Trip
The latest adventure activity on the Zambezi River. Far more than just a raft trip, you will be in charge of your own inflatable kayak (under the expert guidance of our river team) running some of the best rapids on the Zambezi River. Our guides give you the tools and confidence to paddle rapids from Rapid 11 to Rapid 25 including Oblivion! This is a trip for those wanting a fun filled whitewater experience and to be more than just a passenger in a raft.
Your Day
Your guides will collect you from your hotel at 8am and drive you to the top of the gorge at Songwe Point. Here we will take the stunning walk down into the Batoka Gorge. After being outfitted with your boats, paddle lifejacket and helmet, your guides will give you a safety talk about what to do in the event of a swim. All trips have an accompanying cataraft as an extra safety boat. The guides will give you instruction and tuition as to how to catch still water, how to punch through waves and will be close at hand to offer advice and safety (we have one guide per 4 guests) We are then into our first rapids of the day, Creamy White Buttocks*, The Mother, Double Trouble and Oblivion. We stop in a scenic spot for a relaxed lunch before tackling more whitewater in the afternoon. We take a ride out of the gorge in a gondola, to our waiting transport, a cold beer or soft drink delighted at our achievement! We are back in town by 5pm.
Pick Up Point & Time
We will collect all our clients from where you are staying. This will be between 7.30 and 8.30 depending on where you are situated. When you book, we'll let you know the approximate collection time. At the conclusion of your trip we'll have you back at your hotel between 5-5.30pm
